Top Dog Grooming Services is a professional fully mobile grooming service that is offered in the comfort and convenience of you and your dog’s own home.
Home grooms are ideal for those with no transportation. Your dog will be groomed in its own familiar surroundings on a one-to-one basis taking away any potential stress of being in a loud salon, often with other dogs which can be very distracting for them, especially if nervous.
The service is completely flexible and takes into consideration busy lifestyles so flexible early morning and Saturday appointments are offered, subject to availability.
Small to medium sized breeds can be groomed, please enquire though if unsure about size suitability for a home groom.
There are many variables which will affect the cost of the groom.

There may be additional charges for matting and in the case of behavioural issues, both of which can significantly increase time to complete groom.

De-shedding of loose undercoat especially for double coated dogs to help and reduce unwanted fur around the house.
Inc bath and styled to breed standard or owners/dog’s lifestyle requirements.
Method of removing dead hairs from the coat by hand (finger and thumb) and in addition using tools such as banded comb, stripping knives.
Being pro-active and getting your puppy used to being professionally groomed from an early age (3-4 months at the latest) significantly helps them to build positive associations with the whole grooming process and avoid any long term anxieties. This is particularly important for breeds with high maintenance coats.
Puppy grooms start by being much shorter in length and include a bath, gentle blow dry and scissor trim/tidy of face, feet and sanitary area.
Repeat regular booking are encouraged to build up the time they are able to stand on the table and so long term are comfortable/familiar with the whole process.
In the case of severe matting, attempts to de-mat will be undertaken if appropriate, however in extreme cases or where the dog is not tolerant to the process, then the customer will consulted prior to clipping off and doing a shorter groom. Rest assured the coat will grow back!
It is the owner’s duty of care to maintain their dog’s coat between professional grooms and Top Dog Grooming will be happy to advise about tools and methods to avoid the above happening.
